Good afternoon, my friends! Today, we will talk about how to strengthen the cut on the skirt or dress. At first glance, this topic is minor. But in fact, if you do not strengthen the cut on the skirt or dress, you can just spoil the look of things. Very often, while wearing a dress or skirt with cuts, trouble happens. From a lot of tension, the cut on the skirt or dress is torn. At best, the threads on the seam are torn or unfurled. It's okay, you can once again make a line on the seam.
But it also happens that the clip on the cut is made firmly, the threads are also durable. And then, from constant tension, the fabric itself is torn or even pulled out by a piece! In this case, you already need to try to correct this defect. And not in all cases, it will turn out to do it qualitatively.
Imagine such a picture - You go all so beautiful, the skirt fits the figure, from under the incision the legs are temptingly visible. Men stare at a sort of beauty, their eyes naturally rise higher ... And then Bam! Such a disgrace. Torn seam ...
Look at the photo below. It shows remarkably how much tension the tissue at the incision site occurs during walking. By the way! When we sit, if the skirt is narrow, tight, the tension of the fabric occurs no less than during walking. And even on the contrary, increases several times.
Place on the skirt with a slit, which should be strengthened. But this probable problem can be foreseen. And in advance to protect yourself from trouble.
I asked my mom for advice on this topic. And my mother, Sidorenko Anna Matveevna, is a professional tailor. And I will say without false modesty that you need to look for tailors of such high professionalism as my mother. Her advice is always valuable.
So mom told me, I recorded, did and tell you.
HOW TO PROCESS CUTS ON THE SKIRT OR DRESS
Suppose we have a cut on the skirt.
To eliminate the gap seam, you need to do at the end of the line amplifier. The amplifier is made of thin durable fabric, in the tone of the main product. Mom makes lining fabric. But it is possible and from the main fabric.
Cut out a strip of fabric along a common thread, 3 cm wide.
A strip of fabric for the amplifier Fold in four layers, cut inward (as a hanger) and sew along the fold in 0.1-0.2 mm.
Amplifier strip. The seam of the cut in the product should be ironed out.
The seam cut on the skirt. We fold the fabric with the face, and weave the seam, on the contrary, we open it as in the photo below. Then, we put the amplifier exactly in the place where the stitch is finished. The amplifier is applied line down for better strength. Can be fixed with needles, that would not move out. Now you need to make bartacks. Clip do with the wrong side, exactly along the line. Of course, it is desirable to select the threads to match the tone of the product. I specifically used the thread, a contrasting color that would have been better seen.
First, do the tack on one side.
We sew amplifier. In the photo below, you can see how the bartack looks on the other side of the stitching seam.
We sew amplifier. Then, we repeat, everything is the same, with a different seam of grinding (on the other hand).
We sew amplifier. Now do the clips at the edges of the seams. First, we tack on one edge of the seam. Then on the other side. Fabric, unfold as well as in the previous case.
We sew amplifier. Now we make the clips on the bottom of the amplifier, as in the photo below.
First on one seam allowance. Then on another stock.
We sew amplifier. The photo below shows how the bartacks look on the other side.
View from the back. Now, the excess amplifier, the length of the need to cut.
We cut off the extra tails of the amplifier. All fasteners are made on seam allowances, without touching the front side. In the finished form on the product bartacks are not visible.
In the finished form is not visible that the inside of the incision has been strengthened. So, you can strengthen the cut on the skirt or dress. It will take little time, but it will protect you from future troubles.
And further! If you bought a finished product and there is a cut on it, then it is better to immediately put the amplifier. Most likely seam allowances on the cut, I will be scribed along the edge. Carefully distribute part of the stitching. And put the amplifier on the cut, in exactly the same way as described above.
Then, again, make a stitch, in the place where you broke it. Try to match the threads by the same color as the threads of the native stitch.
If you do not have the opportunity to find threads of the same color, then just spread your native stitching completely. Put the amplifier. And do the stitching again, those threads that you have (suitable for the color of the fabric).
